Gobbly-Gook
So this last weekend was spent at Sylvan Acres on a retreat for that "nebulous" age group known as "Young Adults" and seriously, it was a blast. There were six of us from First Baptist including our Maptist friend Courntey, ;) and we had such an incrediable time. What an awesome way to end the summer and start the school year. We met some really great people from Victoria and were amazingly refreshed and renewed. The best was playing kick-the-can in the dark until midnight and then playing Full-Contact Animal Bash (okay, well maybe not full contact except when the Unicorn got the noodle). Of course even though it's 1am by this time, you're still ready to go, so we laid under the stars and shared our stories. It was so amazing to be trusted with the hearts of these wonderful people and be accepted and loved for who I was and what I'd gone through. But mostly, it was just praising God for all the amazing things He's done in each of our lives and being encouraged by seeing how we have all gone through some hard stuff, but we've been redeemed and pulled through. It was one of those weekends that you wish wouldn't end, that you could stay there just a while longer, but in the end, it's okay to come back because our friendships are strengthened and our faith is renewed.
There will be pictures to come because every moment of every day is a photoshop oppurtunity, so stayed tuned for those. On a more sour note, when I got back to my mom's from this amazing weekend, to pick up my car and drop off the van, I discovered that someone had egged my car last night. You may chuckle at this because it sounds funny at first, but when you're on the receiving end, it's not funny. I was sooo cheesed! Not only was I in a hurry, but now I had to try and clean egg off of my car and what's worse is that I left the driver's window open about an inch and so there was egg inside all over the display panel and steering wheel and really, it was a stupid, smelly mess. I'm not necessarily attached to my possessions but I expect people to have respect for them like I try to respect others' possessions (excluding a stepped on towel here or there). It just irks me when people don't respect other people's property or intentionally vandalize it. I'm mostly over it now, but I'm not looking forward to scrubbing the egg out of my car with a tooothbrush and hoping the smell eventually comes out. Don't vandalize, it's wrong!!!
